Playboy Mansion via Satellite
Google Maps doesn’t zoom close-enough, but here’s a shot with Microsoft’s TerraServer.

Test-Drive a Mac Mini
Apple’s offering a 30-Day Trial period for their Mac Minis to potential switchers. I’d love to see commercials for this… rather than that boring old switch campaign they were considering renewing. On the other hand, I don’t see why you couldn’t just return the machine before if you didn’t like it… but I guess now people know for sure. If you’re...

How-To: Format your iChat Profile with Colors and...
Apple’s iChat profile entry thing for AIM is very basic. Most users assume that only Plain-Text is allowed… but they are mistaken! AIM for Windows has a formatting toolbar on the profile editing screen… so new Mac users always feel limited. However, as with Chat windows, you can press Apple+T and change fonts, colors… insert symbols… basically do whatever the hell...

Gallons and Gallons of Gas.
Gas prices are way down this week, at least in my area, which is pretty slick since my car’s engine is only rated for Premium. Either way, definitely check out this Dashboard widget for the Mac: Link. This thing found me gas stations that I didn’t even know about! Be careful, though… some of the smaller ones have crumby gas. I’ve run into this a few times… if that...

The Morning After.
Well I’m pretty sure I’m the only one who’s had their Instant Messenger slashdotted, lol. This morning I was presented with HUNDREDS of Buddy Invites, going down both sides of my screen. Don’t worry, I approved all of them! Anyway, Google Talk seems like it’s a success. Google made their own client available around midnight last night, while Mac/Linux and some...

I'm on Google Talk right now.
Google Talk = Google’s new IM service that they’re announcing tomorrow. All you need is a Jabber-compatible Instant Messaging client (such as Apple’s iChat, or GAIM), and a GMail address. Digg this, NOW! If you’re getting the 405 error with GAIM, or simply cannot connect anymore, follow the updated configuration instructions below!!! You have to use an @gmail.com address...

Radiskull and Devil Doll.
Back in the early days of Shockwave.com came the man named Joe Sparks… and with him he brought the idea of Radiskull and Devil Doll. To my surprise, his old site is still up. The regular “play episode” links that go back to Shockwave don’t work, but the “Linux Version” ones do… at least for me. If you haven’t seen this before, you might think...

Maps that are wrong.
Nothing sucks more than (other than the gas prices right now) driving along… following a map… and driving up to where a highway is SUPPOSED to be. Highways that are planned, under contstruction, or even lost funding! Today, I stumbled across this gem on Google Maps (part of Route 44 in Massachusetts)… you can see here in Hybrid mode that the software thinks its there and would...

Pirates of Silicon Valley.
This movie was excellent. It comes out on DVD in two weeks so definiately pre-order a copy. If you’re not familiar with the plot… it basically outlines the history of rivalry between Steve Jobs and Bill Gates. Even if you’re not into this sort of thing, it’s easily enjoyable to anyone a fan of business or technology.

AIMFight.com is Rigged!
This site premiered a little while ago and is geared toward being one of this year’s crazes. My friend Mike IMed me today and said he thought it was a cool idea, and I said “whatever, I still beat you.” However, he returned with “no, I beat you by like 1,000 points.” We both did it at the same time… how could this have happened?? Anyway, we exchanged screen...

The Arcade Trick.
Gaming arcades (with or without prizes) are a complete scam. You pay $5 to $20 for tokens and win like a piece of gum or some stupid keychain. (or both if you’re lucky) Anyway, the other day I had a brilliant idea… an idea shared by many. WHAT IF you bought your arcade tokens online, snuck them into the arcade in your pockets, and saved yourself a TON of cash?! Well, it’d be...

How-To Eat LOTS of Candy Without Getting Sick.
So basically I didn’t have anything better to do after about 12 midnight tonight, so I went to Stop and Shop and bought a ton of Milk Duds and M&Ms. Anyway, the trick I’ve learned is to eat chilled yogurt (custard style is the best) at the same time to balance everything out without getting sick. Works pretty well, making this the stupidest blog post, ever.

GTI Intake +HP
Installing an after-market intake in your car is a great way to get some cheap Horsepower. This particular engine’s a fairly easy install… took about 3 or 4 hours total. (Turned into a two day project, just like everything else, due to a bad grounding point below the battery that was causing my windshield wipers and blinkers to turn on at random. However, I took care of that this...

What Ever Happened to "Princes of Malibu"?
Earlier this summer, Fox kicked off a great new reality show called “Princes of Malibu”, which has since disappeared from the Sunday-night television line-up. “David is a harried music producer who does not appreciate his stepsons Brandon and Brody (birth father being Olympic decathlete Bruce Jenner) constantly living off his dime. At times, his wife Linda acts like a third...

Staying Healthy.
Well I’ve decided to change from fast food to healty food. I feel a lot better, and am pleased with the fact that I’m adding years to my life! POM juice sounded gross, and expensive. However, I bought a bottle of the Mango fusion they offer… and it tastes just like cranberry juice, if not better! I love it, and plan to buy a lot more. Plus, it’s apparently really good...

VW Previews new Passats
It’s about time… the old ones were ugly and out-dated. The new Passat looks like a combination between the new Jettas and the slightly-available Phaeton. :) My favorite features: New, Mercedes style keys. (infrared/radio transmissions, opposed to the traditional, mechanical key) Umbrella, tucked away in the driver’s side door. (very cool) 3.6L V6 engine, with a VR6 feel....

Best Trick, Ever.
I was just at Stop & Shop stocking up on some food when I realized: I actually had a coupon with me. However, that dumb automated checkout thing wanted me to DEPOSIT the coupon in the coupon slot after I scanned it. SO, realizing that this was stupid, I tore off a little piece of the coupon (without harming the barcode, of course) deposited that instead, then proceeded to use the coupon...

The Jar of Change. (Part 2)
So I went back to the bank today with my gigantic jar of change (even though it was only about 1/6th full) and was immediately turned away and given a set of coin rolling wrappers. Damn it! Coinstar’s looking pretty good right about now. So I go home, get this change sorter thing I’ve like never used, and start pouring the jar into this little machine. After fighting with the damn...

The Jar of Change. (Part 1)
Nothing pisses me off more than getting 98 cents worth of change when you buy something… it makes you want to carry around some pennies just-in-case. (some people do!) Well anyway, instead of throwing my change in a pile, I found this jar to throw it all in, then proceeded to look all-over my bedroom for any loose quarters, dimes, and nickels…. and pennies… to try to fill this...
