‘Dashboard’ is Far from Convenient

Mac OS X Tiger boasted Spotlight and Tiger. Overall, I upgraded for the smaller features, but these were an added bonus.

I was looking forward to Dashboard since Konfabulator always seemed to slow-down or screw-up my computer (maybe it was just me), but Apple has some work to do. Like, the feature is far from convenient… there’s a massive delay for when the widgets load up for the first time and show the information. It’s not just when you first access Dashboard, either; it’s when you’re adding new Widgets, or haven’t accessed your Widgets in a while and they need to update. We’re talking 5 seconds or so on average. Why doesn’t it do this stuff in the background?

Now that I have all sorts of crap out of my menu bar into the Dashboard, it’s a nice feature, but it’s just too slow. I’m very surprised and disappointed that the feature left Apple’s HQs in this state. Hopefully, there will be an update soon.
