I built this simple Apple Watch and iOS app as a test of working with “WatchKit” and designing for a very small screen.

The app is free and provides a watch “glance view” for quickly checking your iPhone's battery level from your Apple Watch. — For those with/without Apple Watches, you can receive customizable notifications of various battery levels, but this requires an optional in-app purchase ($0.99 USD) to enable forever.

  If you force quit it from the task switcher on iOS, it prevents the notifications from appearing either on the phone or watch. iOS blocks notifications that are computed locally on apps that have been force-quit by the user.
  Did you force quit the app? It mentions this in the app's description.

  Hmm. It could be device related settings such as the disabling of "Background Refresh" for the app or something else. It's up to the OS and not us when the app is able to run into the background.
  Check to make sure everything is turned on, and maybe delete and reinstall the app if you're still having trouble.

It often say 100% in Glances, but the app reads correctly. Also think the font used for "iPhone" should not be so bold. I think a thinner font in color (green) would look nice. Also, don't think it is necessary to list the iPhone connection. And the full charge should be more orange. Right now it looks peach.

  Can you explain your configuration? What iOS/watchOS versions, etc. — Are you jailbroken?
  There's really no reason why that should be happening unless it's corrupt system data or something completely unexpected. The app gets the battery info straight from the device, so it's basically impossible for it to report it incorrectly.
  With that said, it seems like the watch app is out of sync with your iPhone. There are some bugs still with iOS/watchOS interaction, but it sounds like this is out of the scope of the app's ability to resolve. I can try to research it if you can provide more information about your configuration or any other issues you've had with other apps, though.

  Thanks, im using an iphone 6 with 8.4, and a SS AW 1.0.1. Everything else seems to work, but glances always stays at 100%. If I tap it, about 1/3 of the time, itll open the app and refresh. If I then swipe up and check the glance it stays at 100% and then after about a second, update to whatever the app said. But come back 5 minutes later and glances is back to 100% and the app too, usually.

  iOS 8.4 was just released a few hours ago, so I'm assuming since your post was 8+ hours ago that you were running an iOS beta.
  My best recommendation is to update to the live iOS 8.4 release now. If it's still not working, completely remove the app from your phone and watch, reboot both, then reinstall from the App Store. If it doesn't work then, the only options left unfortunately are to restore your watch and/or iPhone, but I'm sure that's farther than you want to go.
  This is a really simple app, so I'm almost completely sure that the issue is either with corruption of your devices operating system or some system related malfunction. If it was indeed an iOS beta, then that would be my best guess as to the root cause.

  Also, since iOS 8.4 is available now, I'll test it and see if I can reproduce the issue and push out an update if necessary. I just released one today, so it should be about 10 days off if there is an issue with the new OS.

  OK, glad to hear. I wasn't sure what else to recommend, ha. Yes... the glance delay is definitely annoying right now!
  Keep an eye on the network status thing "LTE + Wi-Fi", etc. ... let me know if that's ever completely inaccurate. Trying to ensure that's as bug-free as possible but occasionally there are some quirks that users have reported while roaming internationally.

  As mentioned in other comments, if you force quit the app from the app switcher on iOS, the notifications will stop. It has to be in the task switcher or it's not possible for the app to wake up to notify you.
